Hi everyone,

I’m new to Swift but hope to one day become proficient. Eventually I’d like to create an App that monitors a manufacturing process, ie. as each part of a garment is assembled I need a way for it to be checked off against an order. I know that the App would need to be connected to a database but wasn’t sure how the rest of it would work. I thought about having a scanning solution whereby a scanner was connected (somehow) to an iPad (if that’s possible) and then have the person scan a barcode (attached) to a garment part that would somehow check the manufacturing step off the applicable order.

I wondered if anyone could give me any advice about how this could work and is Swift the correct programming language to use?

Would really appreciate any help.
